Arena Facelift Coming Soon

In 1973, Clarence “Tubby” Schmalz reached out to the community of Walkerton to comprise an Executive to bring a Junior ‘D’ Hockey Club to town. The date was Friday, November 2, 1973, and the Walkerton Capitals opened their season against Owen Sound in their brand new arena.
Fast forward 50 years, in the same facility, the Walkerton Capitals Junior ‘C’ Hockey Club is excited to announce the upcoming unveiling of our new and improved “Caps Room” which is comprised of professional lockers, new flooring with the team logo proudly displayed in the floor, two televisions to align with the upcoming live-streaming of all PJHL games, as well as historical photos and artwork to commemorate the history of the Walkerton BlackHawks and the unprecedented Championship runs of the Walkerton Hawks.
Stayed tuned for the complete unveiling of the project and the opportunity to leave a legacy in a sponsorship in an exciting hockey community project.
This project is set to be completed prior to the 2023/2024 PJHL season to commemorate 50 years of Junior Hockey in Walkerton.
