Acquisitions Inked

The Walkerton Capitals Jr. ‘C’ Hockey Club is very excited to announce the signings of defenseman Craig Spence, forward Austin Drew and goalie Vance Meyer.

Craig was acquired by the Capitals via trade from the Blenheim Blades earlier this off-season and is excited to play his final season of junior hockey with our club!  Spence, from Chatham, Ontario, is a 6’2, 190 pound defenseman, who carries an extensive hockey resume and will be a major piece to our hockey club this season. Having been drafted to the OHL by the Mississauga Steelheads in 2018, playing Jr. ‘A’ in the OJHL for the Georgetown Raiders, playing Jr. ‘B’ for the Chatham Maroons, and most recently having played for the Blenheim Blades Jr. ‘C’ where he was over a point per game player, Craig will be relied upon to bring his knowledge, leadership, and skills to our new look group this season!

Austin was acquired by the Capitals in a deal with the Blenheim Blades Jr. ‘C’ Hockey Club a few weeks ago. Austin tallied 41 points in 37 games last season with the Blades as a 17 year old, and will provide our team with a much needed scoring touch!

Meyer comes to the Capitals via trade from the Mount Forest Patriots Jr. ‘C’ Hockey Club.  Vance, who will be entering his final season of junior hockey eligibility, is a welcomed addition to the Capitals goal crease this upcoming season. The 5’11, 170 pound goaltender is very quick, agile, and determined to help the Capitals succeed this season. Vance, originally from Guelph, Ontario, carries plenty of hockey experience with him; having made stops in the Northern Ontario Junior ‘A’ Hockey League for the Timmons Rock, the Greater Ontario Junior ‘B’ Hockey League for the Ayr Centennials, and most recently in the Provincial Junior ‘C’ Hockey League Pollock Division for the Mount Forest Patriots where he started 17 games in the postseason while back stopping the club to their 4th consecutive division title.
Please help us welcome Craig, Austin, and Vance to the Capitals organization!
